Jim Lloyd began CoupyKeep 1997 after being inspired by his wife’s savvy couponing skills. At first, Jim only placed ads in the newspaper for his CoupyKeep and received some orders, but having to cash individual checks and process order manually eventually became tedious. Discover It
CoupyKeep sent me a tan CoupyKeep to give a test drive. When I received it in the mail, I immediately noticed that the color was more what I would call light brown rather than tan. Which suits me, because I like brown better than tan.
The first thing I did to test the CoupyKeep was to yank at the seams to see how well constructed it is. Each straight stitch was in fact straight and very sturdy.
The CoupyKeep came with a set of tabbed dividers and some nicely-printed, clear stickers to label each tab. I like that the categories weren’t printed directly onto the tab; it gives you the option of selecting which categories you would like to utilize. And you can stick them in the order you want.
The CoupyKeep also has a highly helpful feature that makes it so it can hang from the handle of the shopping cart. The hook-and-loop closure was also narrow enough that I was able to secure it on the side of the grocery cart, well out of the reach of my son’s grabby hands. No eating Mommy’s coupons!
Because I have already "graduated" to the binder system to organize my many, many, MANY coupons, using the CoupyKeep alone would not work very well for me. However, I discovered that it is extremely helpful for sorting coupons that I intend to use on a specific trip. For example, I match coupons and sales at home, then I move the coupons I intend to use while shopping that day from my binder to the CoupyKeep. When I wonder if a particular item is the right one for the coupon, I simply draw the coupon from the CoupyKeep to read the fine print. When I put something in my cart, I move the coupon for that item to the very front of the CoupyKeep. This way, when I reach the register, I simply pull out the coupons and hand them over. It keeps me organized and causes less hassle when I’m out necessity shopping!
