Kid Basix Safe Sippy 2 Review and Winner’s Choice Giveaway {Plus 20% Off Coupon Code} {CLOSED}
November 15, 2012 by 24 Comments

A group of parents teamed up in 2007 when concerns arose about dangerous BPA in plastic bottles. Although these parents were easily able to find BPA-free replacements for the plastic bottles they were using, they were unable to find a suitable replacement for their children. As a result, they invented the Kid Basix line of stainless steel children's bottles.
Discover It

Kid Basix sent us two of their Safe Sippy 2 cups.

The most unique thing about these sippies is that they each come with a straw and three different valves. There's a travel valve (the dark orange) to plug the opening to prevent leaks during travel. There's a sippy valve (the clear one) to make the cup into a sippy. And there's the straw adapter (the light orange one) to use the straw. Since each valve is easily removed, the sippies are super easy to thoroughly clean.

The spout is straw-like and designed to for developing palates.

Each sippy has a dust cap to protect the spout in the refrigerator or in the diaper bag. And the handles are removable.

Each bottle is constructed with food-grade stainless steel that is durable, non-leaching, antimicrobial, and dishwasher safe. It also comes with a thermo plastic rubber sleeve that makes it easier for the wee one to grip while simultaneously insulating the cup, keeping its contents cold.

The Little Mister really loves the sippies (especially the blue).

For him, the handles are more of a carrying convenience than a necessity.

Although the Little Guy has not yet mastered the straw, he does very well with the sippy valve. He needs the handles in order to hold it up.
Pros: The bottles have cute colors, are the perfect size, and have very convenient features (everything–from the different valves to the removable handles–are convenient). Both boys have an easy time using them and seem to enjoy them.
Cons: At this time, I cannot think of any cons.

I learned that it took 25 years for the world to listen to scientific warnings about BPA! I love that these come with three different valves, making it so nice to use the same bottle as the child grows, and they look super easy to clean, which is more than I can say for the plastic sippies. I am putting this on the kids’ Christmas lists!

Oops I put the leaflet code in the wrong box! I put it in the bonus code box!
Eh, that’s okay!
I love that the Sippies have removable valves so they are easily cleaned.
