Liquid Health is a company that provides high-quality, whole food liquid vitamin supplements. One of their key products is their liquid prenatal vitamins. Here are some of the highlights of Liquid Health’s Liquid Prenatal Multi:
- The Liquid Prenatal Multi is made completely from natural, whole food ingredients and is made in the USA from Liquid Health’s southern California facility.
- The multi includes an organic and natural multi-vitamin blend of B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9 and B12; natural folate; iron; calcium; vitamin D; natural beta-carotene (vitamin A); NutraFlora (a prebiotic); and zinc.
- It is non-GMO.
- The liquid form allows your body to readily absorb the vitamins and minerals since it does not need to break down a pill or capsule, making it better for your digestive system.
This prenatal is ideal for women who have a hard time swallowing pills.
It is gluten and sugar free (it is sweetened with stevia) with a tropical berry flavor.
It can be taken by alone or mixed with fruit juice or in a smoothie (or, might I add, mixed in to yogurt).
Liquid Health sent me a 16-ounce bottle of their Liquid Prenatal Multi to review.
Now, for my family and friends who are reading, don’t get excited. You did NOT just figure out some news before we announced it; I am NOT pregnant at this time. However, because I do want to get my body into optimal health for a safe, healthy next pregnancy, taking quality vitamins that will encourage my body towards this goal is a must.
The bottle said to take the liquid plain or mixed in juice (you could also mix it in with a smoothie or yogurt). I decided I would try it first plain and, if it were horrible, then I’d mix it in some juice.
When I opened the bottle, I saw that the liquid was an interesting burnt-orange color. It was a bit thick and smelled kinda like fruity gum. Next, I drank the recommended dosage, which is one tablespoon. To me, it tasted like what I remember children’s vitamins (you know, the kind shaped like the Flintstones or some other cartoon characters) tasting like. It wasn’t half bad. I definitely didn’t think it was awful and since the dosage is only one tablespoon, I’d rather just take it plain rather than spending the time to mix it in some juice or anything else.
And this versus swallowing down a horse pill: glorious! I tend to gag when swallowing pills, and if I were pregnant, it would be ten times as worse. So having a vitamin that doesn’t include gagging it down or getting it stuck in my throat (I HATE it when that happens!) is amazing.
I also LOVE that the vitamin is made with whole foods, sweetened only with stevia, and digest readily and easily. Such a healthy choice.
